United States Holocaust Memorial Museum is a national museum and living memorial in Washington, D. C. that documents, preserves, and interprets the history of the Holocaust and related genocides. The Museum maintains extensive collections (more than 270,000 records including photos, personal stories, artifacts, and films), offers permanent, special, traveling and online exhibitions, and provides education and outreach programs for teachers, students, military, law enforcement, judiciary, religious leaders, and international audiences. It also supports academic research, maintains databases such as the Database of Holocaust Survivor and Victim Names, and runs genocide prevention and antisemitism resources and initiatives. The Museum is free and open to the public (closed Yom Kippur and Christmas Day) and is located at 100 Raoul Wallenberg Place SW, Washington, DC.
