• The Lung Bioengineering (LBE) National Transplant Accounts Director is a primary field-based resource responsible for cultivating and managing key relationships with transplant administration, leading contract negotiations, developing business cases, and providing reimbursement and coverage expertise while educating stakeholders on LBE offerings. • This role is responsible for executing engagement strategies and tactical plans to support favorable payer access and reimbursement for LBE services and products. • This position partners closely with Payer Account Directors to support managed care initiatives that ensure patient access to LBE services and products. • The role collaborates with transplant administrators, healthcare providers, and cross-functional teams to address access barriers and deliver effective solutions. • Additionally, the position supports stakeholder education on reimbursement processes and access pathways. • Establish and maintain LBE’s relationships with transplant administration, relevant KOL payer stakeholders, and transplant benefit networks while cultivating business opportunities and implementing action plans aligned with brand strategy and payer objectives. • Network, identify key contacts and opportunities, and develop, pitch, and implement business opportunities with transplant leadership to expand access and drive organizational objectives. • Negotiate transplant center and Organ Procurement Organization contracts within guidance of LBE leadership and within finance and legal parameters, collaborating with health systems, transplant finance, and legal to navigate the contracting process from introduction through execution and manage ongoing contract amendments. • Provide reimbursement and coverage expertise while educating transplant centers, administrators, and providers on LBE’s commercial services, products, and reimbursement processes to effectively address access challenges. • Create and maintain accurate customer data in CRM and SAP systems while serving as the primary internal invoicing contact for finance and supporting operational processes. • Conduct regular meetings with transplant hospital stakeholders to discuss business cases, performance progress, opportunities, competitive dynamics, and ongoing training needs. • Develop and execute strategic plans, goals, and objectives while preparing and delivering formal business and product presentations to payers and enhancing device and product access and coverage. • Partner with Liaisons as a primary resource for physician and process opportunities to support HCP engagement, process development, education, and coordination related to transplant center and OPO contracting. • Partner with Payer Account Directors as the primary resource for managed markets opportunities and issues, educating on key managed care concepts and engaging with Market Access senior management to exchange payer and transplant management perspectives. • Collaborate with field HEOR to support medical presentations of clinical and economic information to payers and transplant administrators as needed. • Work directly with transplant administrators to provide expertise on access and reimbursement challenges and deliver education and resources to support effective navigation of coverage and payment processes. • Participate in local, regional, and national meetings to represent LBE and advance lung transplantation, best practices in organ donation, and preservation technologies. • Work cross functionally with Liaisons, Clinical Services, HEOR, Patient Advocacy, NADs, Marketing, Legal, and Compliance to implement aligned payer initiatives and ensure coordinated execution. • Manage relationships with Transplant Administration Organizations. • Maintain and report on key developments and trends across assigned accounts and geographies while developing and disseminating presentations to senior management on transplant trends, market dynamics, utilization, and financial metrics. • Serve as a resource for planning, data interpretation, and insights to support relationship management and business decision making. • Perform other duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field • 10+ years of relevant experience in organ operations or healthcare services with a focus on payer access, reimbursement, and stakeholder engagement with a Bachelor's Degree or 8+ years of relevant experience in organ operations or healthcare services with a focus on payer access, reimbursement, and stakeholder engagement with a Master's Degree • 5+ years of related transplant administration experience, including managed care, marketing, and business case development with a Bachelor's Degree or 3+ years of related transplant administration experience, including managed care, marketing, and business case development with a Master's Degree • Executive level business presentation experience • Demonstrated ability to cultivate strong business relationships and skilled in communicating clinical/technical information • Demonstrated expertise in transplant reimbursement dynamics, including Medicare cost reporting and payer contracting • Expertise in access and reimbursement, including payer policies and processes • Data gathering and interpretation for executive leadership • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on delivering practical solutions • Understanding of Organ Procurement Organization organ acquisition charges and reimbursement processes • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word) • Ability to interact with other departments and prioritize tasks • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with payer stakeholders to ensure access and reimbursement for current and future LBE services/products
