📋 Description

• Oversee patient accounts and verify the accuracy of accounts receivable (AR) • Contact patients to collect outstanding payments • Research and resolve patient billing inquiries • Document actions taken to reconcile outstanding balances • Communicate with patients and insurance companies to resolve billing issues • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations • Explain Care Credit and encourage patients to apply • Help patients create reasonable payment plans • Provide customer service to patients and insurance companies • Prepare specialized invoices and information • Prepare accurate files for collection agencies • Verify patient demographics and update registration • Adhere to Solaris Health Code of Conduct and applicable policies and procedures • Maintain confidentiality of protected health information under HIPAA • Report suspected concerns or violations • Complete annual compliance training • Perform other assigned position-related duties

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required • Proven experience in medical billing and collections • Relevant experience with billing software and electronic health records • Knowledge of medical terminology, healthcare coding systems, and clinical functions • Experience using Practice Management (PM) systems and other software systems • Ability to follow compliance policies and procedures • Proficiency and accuracy in data entry • Ability to manage multiple projects with strict attention to detail • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Proficiency with Microsoft Office • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines • Customer-oriented and able to remain calm in difficult situations • Ability to comply with HIPAA, Solaris Health policies, and applicable laws and regulations • No certifications, licensures, or registry requirements (N/A) • No required travel (N/A)
