• Support a defined, time-bound project for the Innovation & Research team • Compile and synthesize the latest trends and developments in health-related building strategies • Develop, test, and refine the trend-scanning process • Conduct a structured review of research and industry resources published within the last ten years • Use USGBC’s inSIGHT tool to compile research • Categorize supporting evidence with consistent topic tagging and labels for resource type and evidence rigor • Test and assess the inSIGHT tool workflow for consistency and quality • Identify gaps, issues, and practical improvements • Refine the tool configuration to optimize performance • Revise a short standard operating procedure for the information-gathering process • Synthesize findings into an internal memo covering evidence status, research gaps, and emerging trends in health-promoting building design • Provide synthesis and updates for recurring progress check-ins and final deliverable takeaways • Report to the Project Manager, Senior Associate of Innovation & Research • Collaborate with Innovation & Research and Technical Development teams
• Prior internships, research projects, volunteer work, or relevant coursework involving qualitative research activities and substantial writing experience in green building, environmental health, environmental science, public health, or similar • Interest and prior research experience in green buildings, environmental health, environmental science, public health, or related fields • Relevant coursework and/or work experience in qualitative and quantitative research methods • Ability to summarize technical findings in writing • Graduate-level education, completed or currently enrolled, in a relevant area, or equivalent professional experience in relevant practice areas • Experience conducting applied research or literature reviews and producing written synthesis • Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs • Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence tools • Analytical and critical thinking • Written and verbal communication • Organization and time management • Research and data interpretation • Collaboration and adaptability • Availability to meet with the supervisor at least once a week during normal working hours within the Eastern Standard Time Zone • Ability to complete all deliverables within three months at the latest • Applicants with vacation scheduled for more than five days of absence are discouraged from applying
