📋 Description

• Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of USP’s Global Trade Compliance program • Translate program priorities into actionable workplans and measurable team activities • Coordinate priorities, processes, and execution across geographically dispersed U.S. and India team members • Support governance routines, performance tracking, issue escalation, and resource alignment • Provide direct and functional leadership to Global Trade Compliance team members in the U.S. and India • Set goals and performance expectations, coach direct reports, provide documented feedback, and support professional development • Promote an inclusive, psychologically safe, engaged, and collaborative team culture • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to provide trade compliance guidance and integrate requirements into business processes • Maintain trade compliance risk tolerance aligned with USP’s organizational risk profile • Monitor compliance with U.S. import/export laws, tariffs, sanctions requirements, and USP standards • Identify, assess, and mitigate trade-related risks in coordination with Legal and business stakeholders • Develop and maintain trade compliance procedures, guidance, and best practices • Oversee HTS, Schedule B, ECCN classification, jurisdiction and license determinations, and classification databases • Manage restricted party screening programs, escalations, training, and access controls • Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders for compliant import/export execution • Monitor service quality and manage AES filings, country-of-origin determinations, valuation, free trade agreements, and recordkeeping • Support trade compliance requirements for product launches, global expansion, and evolving business activities • Design and implement role-based import/export compliance training programs

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Economics, or relevant field; or equivalent experience • Minimum of 8 years relevant experience with U.S. import and export regulations and global trade • Minimum of 2 years people managerial experience • Experience collaborating with a global team • Extensive knowledge of U.S. export laws and regulations, tariffs, U.S. denied parties and sanctioned country laws and regulations, including OFAC and other country trade regulations • Ability to successfully lead and implement compliance initiatives with a positive and collaborative style • Ability to plan and manage multiple tasks while working with individuals across the organization at all levels • Licensed Customs Broker and/or Trade related certifications required • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with time-sensitive submissions and strict reporting deadlines • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills • Experience in a functional management structure is preferred • Experience in the pharmaceutical, chemical, and biologics industry area is desired
