📋 Description

• Lead development of security architecture guidance, standards, and reference diagrams for on-premise and cloud platforms and systems • Support macro- and micro-level security design for a large government agency • Lead enterprise security architecture design and serve as a key subject matter expert for the client • Develop and align system security architectures with organizational cybersecurity guidelines • Define security boundaries, document system categorization, and analyze user needs and requirements • Develop guidance for security mechanisms such as encryption for data at rest • Assess security postures and review candidate architectures • Identify protection needs and determine how new systems or interfaces affect enterprise security • Identify and document security and privacy requirements, including personal information and data requiring protection • Support acquisition and procurement through security requirements, project cost input, and technical specifications • Contribute to risk management and compliance, including architecture reviews, security gap identification, RMF activities, and lifecycle documentation • Provide technical, engineering, analytical, and planning support • Develop strategic enterprise solutions addressing business requirements and the changing cybersecurity threat landscape • Produce reference architectures, white papers, roadmaps, architecture risk analyses, standards, business use cases, design patterns, as-is and to-be assessments, gap analyses, and remediation roadmaps • Develop baselines and reference architectures using standard frameworks • Perform Architect Risk Analysis through systematic reviews • Interact directly with agency technical and operational leadership • Identify, frame, and support resolution of critical organizational issues • Periodically update artifacts for regulatory, audit, and compliance requirements

🎯 Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is required due to federal contract obligations • Ability to successfully pass a federal background investigation • 7+ years of experience designing security architectures using NIST security controls, agency policy, and government-wide security requirements • Experience designing on-premise and cloud security fabrics for all system layers, from application to CSP • 2+ years of experience designing Zero Trust Architectures for cloud and on-premise systems • Experience designing security architectures hosted in Microsoft Azure using Azure-native services and COTS tooling • Experience assessing and reviewing security architectures, writing detailed findings reports, and briefing findings • Experience developing security architecture guidance, policy language, Standard Operating Procedures, and as-code hardening standards • Extensive knowledge of NIST 800-53 Rev. 5 and other NIST Special Publications • Current knowledge of government-wide security mandates and CISA Directives • Ability to define and document system security boundaries and categorize systems based on security and privacy requirements • Skill in analyzing user needs to guide secure architecture planning • Ability to assess enterprise security postures and identify impacts from new systems or interfaces • Experience developing technical documentation, including written documents and diagrams • Experience developing presentation slide decks and presenting to technical and non-technical personnel • Experience identifying and documenting system and organizational security and privacy requirements, including personal data handling • Familiarity with identifying and protecting enterprise- and system-level security data • Ability to translate functional needs into technical security requirements • Ability to support cost estimation and technical guidance for secure system design and changes • Skill in identifying security architecture gaps and contributing to security risk management plans • Proficiency documenting and updating security architecture throughout the system development and acquisition lifecycle • Preferred certifications include CASP, CompTIA Cloud Essentials, Cloud+, Security+, CNDA, CEH, GMON, GSE, CCSP, CISSP, CISSP-ISSAP, CISSP-ISSEP, and SSCP
