📋 Description

• Manage and maintain the Unanet system for project accounting, invoicing, timekeeping, and expense reporting • Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting • Invoice customers and submit invoices in accordance with contracts • Manage accounts payable, process payments, and save documents • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes in accordance with GAAP • Oversee and assist with monthly close and accurate general-ledger recording • Monitor and reconcile balance-sheet accounts • Ensure proper accounting and allocation of direct and indirect costs to government contracts • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable • Monitor cash flow and manage banking relationships • Ensure invoices comply with contract terms, funding limitations, and government regulations • Coordinate with Contracts and Program Management to validate billing data, labor charges, and contract modifications • Support DCAA, CPSR, and customer audits • Maintain and improve internal controls • Provide documentation, working papers, and clarifications for internal and external audits • Ensure compliance with revenue-recognition, billing, and financial-management policies • Review and monitor contract costs and application of labor, materials, and overhead charges

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of proven experience as a staff accountant or similar financial role within federal government contracting • Advanced hands-on experience with Unanet, including project accounting, reporting, and financial management functionalities • Advanced proficiency with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) for collaboration and reporting • Expertise in GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic recommendations • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a track record of effectively managing teams • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is strongly preferred • Quiet, distraction-free workspace with adequate internet • Full attention and availability during working hours • Schedule aligned with coworkers’ and clients’ core business hours • Disclosure of current or future outside employment and written approval for outside professional activities • Must not conduct outside business during Valiant Solutions’ or clients’ core business hours
