• Lead a team of Regional Operations Directors and create the culture, structure, and accountability needed for hospital performance • Own Group P&L, KPI performance, strategic growth, and long-term value creation • Drive operational excellence, labor productivity, and para-labor optimization across hospitals • Execute enterprise-designed VCA and United in Care programs with operational consistency • Implement client acquisition initiatives and client engagement resources to expand access to veterinary medicine • Oversee financial and business performance for long-term hospital sustainability • Lead capital planning, facility improvements, and marketing strategy • Model VCA’s mission and The Five Principles of Mars, Inc. • Foster inclusive, collaborative, psychologically safe, and high-trust teams • Partner with Medical Operations, People & Organization, Finance, Talent Acquisition, Marketing, Facilities, and other support functions • Improve cross-hospital collaboration through a United in Care mindset • Support the Triad of Care model and coordinate medical training and Associate development • Ensure exceptional medical care, client experience measured by NPS, and operational excellence across hospitals • Partner with Medical Operations Leadership to attract, hire, onboard, retain, and develop veterinarians • Support new doctors and new graduates through onboarding, training, and hospital integration • Optimize doctor productivity, workflows, feedback, medical quality, and outcomes • Fulfill other related duties as assigned
• Must reside in the Pacific Northwest (Portland, OR or Seattle, WA metro preferred) • 10+ years related experience; 12+ preferred • Bachelor’s Degree / MBA or DVM preferred • Ability to read, write and speak English • Advanced digital fluency with productivity platforms, including MS365 and cloud-based tools • Strong proficiency in Excel and Power BI • Deep expertise in the veterinary, healthcare or related services industry • Strong command of hospital operations, P&L ownership, pricing strategy, contract negotiation, revenue optimization, and labor management within multi-site healthcare or service environments • Ability to adopt emerging technologies, enterprise systems, and AI-enabled tools • Ability to analyze and utilize reports and data to drive changes and establish ROI and KPIs • Ability to integrate business discipline with medical priorities • Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly to audiences at all levels • Ability to relocate for career pathing • Participation in relevant national or state associations • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and manipulate up to 50 pounds • Good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity, grasping ability, and close visual acuity • Ability to work around airborne particles, illness from patients, chemicals, moderate noise, and pets • Travel within the United States required up to 75% of the time
