📋 Description

• Coordinate and schedule appointments for initial consults, treatment plans, infusion, and outpatient diagnostic services across multiple locations and services • Serve as a primary point of contact for patients with initial consults, appointments, and treatment plans • Review medical records, appointment lists, and scanned documents to ensure all materials are available for complete evaluation • Interface with nursing staff regarding appointment appropriateness and obtain preauthorization as required • Monitor and process patient appointment cancellations in a timely manner • Utilize wait lists where appropriate to improve clinic access for new and established patients • Provide courteous, quick, and respectful customer service to patients, families, visitors, medical staff, clinicians, and co-workers • Schedule or reschedule initial consults and appointments for multiple locations • Perform all aspects of the Patient Access Representative position as needed • Notify management immediately of issues involving violations of VCUHS policies or procedures

🎯 Requirements

• Permanently reside in one of the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Kansas, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, or West Virginia • Minimum of two (2) years of previous patient scheduling/registration work experience in a healthcare setting • Strong customer service skills and patient/customer centered focus in positive manner in all situations • High school graduate or equivalent • Ability to perform daily activities with minimal supervision and function in a self-directed manner • Ability to lift 50-100 lbs. • Prolonged standing and sitting; frequent bending; walking; climbing; overhead, extensive, and repetitive reaching; repetitive motion • Strong recall, reasoning, problem solving, hearing, clear speech, legible writing, reading, and logical thinking • Ability to work in a fast-paced and steady-paced environment, handle multiple priorities, manage frequent and intense customer interactions, work in a noisy environment, and adapt to frequent change
