📋 Description

• Serve as the main point of contact for clients, providing direct support on environmental data management and sustainability strategy • Analyze environmental performance data covering energy, water, greenhouse gas emissions, and waste • Provide strategic guidance on sustainability initiatives and reporting frameworks • Support clients in meeting local, state, and national benchmarking ordinances and environmental regulations • Support client reporting across sustainability frameworks including GRESB and CDP • Support investor questionnaires • Facilitate portfolio-wide analysis for ordinance applicability, including benchmarking, audit, and BPS requirements • Support development of client decarbonization roadmaps and strategic plans • Conduct industry research on emerging decarbonization best practices aligned with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol • Support Scope 3 materiality assessments and greenhouse gas emissions inventories covering Scopes 1, 2, and 3 • Manage decarbonization analyses for multiple clients using Verdani’s proprietary CRREM-aligned tool • Serve as an internal subject matter expert on decarbonization strategies, technologies, and industry best practices • Coordinate and manage multiple vendors, including ESG platform providers, utility bill pay providers, and third-party consultants • Contribute to green building certification projects such as LEED and ENERGY STAR Certifications • Collaborate directly with corporate sustainability and Decarbonization team members serving global commercial real estate clients

🎯 Requirements

• 3–5 years overall experience • Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, environmental planning, or related field • Experience using ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager • Experience with sustainability reporting initiatives such as GRESB, CDP, UNPRI, etc. • Passion for sustainability and green buildings • Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment • Ability to effectively manage a team and delegate tasks • Familiarity with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHGP) • Experience with carbon accounting (Scope 1 and Scope 2 Emissions) • Required proficiency with ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager • Required proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) • Curiosity and initiative in continuously improving work, including responsibly applying AI-enabled tools and solutions • Fluent in English, both oral and written • Must be authorized to work in the United States • Preferred: LEED Green Associate or LEED Accredited Professional – EBOM • Preferred: Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) • Preferred: Certified Energy Manager or Certified Energy Auditor • Preferred experience with decarbonization initiatives and net zero frameworks in commercial real estate • Preferred knowledge of LEED, Fitwel, WELL, and IREM • Preferred familiarity with SBTi, TCFD, CRREM, Building Performance Standards, and Energy Efficiency ordinances • Preferred experience tracking and reporting Scope 3 emissions • Preferred experience conducting ASHRAE Level I, II, or III Energy Audits and Net Zero/Decarbonization Audits • Preferred experience with ESG reporting platforms, collaboration platforms, and project management tools
