📋 Description

• Provide substantive legal and administrative support to Verra’s internal and external stakeholders • Work closely with Legal, Risk and Governance Department members and teams including Registry, Program Management, IT, HR, Fundraising, Finance, and Program Development • Draft, review, and negotiate non-disclosure agreements, consulting contracts, partnership agreements, fundraising agreements, memoranda of understanding, data-sharing agreements, and licensing agreements • Manage contract administration, modifications, execution, tracking, archiving, and repository management • Draft and review internal governance policies and processes • Draft board minutes, resolutions, and related documents • Acknowledge complaints, maintain case-management records, and coordinate responses with Program Management and Development • Assist with regulatory-agency inquiries and document production • Support enforcement of Verra’s intellectual-property portfolio • Negotiate and formalize IP and data-licensing agreements with licensees • Monitor potential trademark infringements and manage resolution strategies • Manage the Logo mailbox and ensure adherence to established policies • Advise the Registry Team on interpretation of Registry Terms of Use and other registry-related requests • Provide document management, data synthesis, and case analysis for contentious matters and litigation • Manage invoice tracking, mailbox management, internal communications, and the LRGD intranet homepage • Triage legal queries and route requests to appropriate Legal, Risk and Governance Department or Verra team members

🎯 Requirements

• Five or more years of relevant work experience in a law firm or in-house legal department reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts and advising on corporate governance • Qualification to practice law in at least one jurisdiction with a valid practising equivalent authorization • Technical competence in at least three key areas of responsibility • Ability to provide clear, robust, and pragmatic legal advice on complex areas of law • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail • Generalist mindset and interest in working across multiple functional areas and learning new areas of law • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with ability to prioritize and manage competing priorities • Track record of building and maintaining effective working relationships across departments, functions, and geographies • Professional and emotionally intelligent manner, sound judgment, and ability to handle complex, confidential, and nuanced matters across jurisdictions • Familiarity with environmental, energy, and social markets such as carbon markets, carbon crediting, and offsetting is an asset • English is the standard business language for written and verbal communication • Reliable Wi-Fi and a distraction-free workspace • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period • Cover letter of no more than one page • Resume/CV of no more than two pages
