📋 Description

• Own preparation and execution of significant portions of the revenue close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, financial statement analyses, controls, and supporting documentation • Apply ASC 606 and Virta accounting policies to recurring and moderately complex revenue arrangements • Research accounting questions and escalate highly judgmental or non-standard matters as appropriate • Analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue results; identify business drivers, unusual trends, and risks • Communicate insights and follow-up actions to revenue accounting leadership and cross-functional partners • Partner with Strategic Finance, Revenue Cycle Management, Operations, Legal, and other stakeholders • Lead defined revenue accounting projects and process improvements, including automation and AI-enabled solutions • Monitor revenue systems, reporting, and data quality; investigate exceptions and inconsistencies • Identify root causes and coordinate issue resolution • Support quarterly reviews and the annual audit by preparing schedules, documentation, and explanations • Resolve routine auditor requests independently • Strengthen controls, documentation, and close processes; develop and implement practical solutions • Maintain revenue accounting process documentation and best practices • Share knowledge with the broader team • Within the first 90 days, take ownership of recurring close activities, build stakeholder relationships, understand revenue systems and data flows, and identify a meaningful process improvement or automation opportunity

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance • 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably with a mix of public accounting and progressive industry experience • CPA preferred • Strong understanding of revenue accounting principles and ASC 606 • Ability to independently own recurring revenue processes, research issues, and apply established accounting policies to moderately complex scenarios • Ability to deliver medium-to-large projects and recurring accounting processes • Ability to analyze complex data, identify meaningful trends or risks, and translate findings into clear actions • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills • Ability to facilitate discussions, create alignment, and communicate financial information effectively to Senior Manager-level stakeholders • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills • Experience with ERP, revenue, or reporting tools such as NetSuite, Zuora, Looker, or similar • Track record of improving processes through automation or better ways of working • Expected to follow Virta’s security and privacy procedures for sensitive patient information governed by HIPAA • Legally authorized to work in the United States
