📋 Description

• Lead Virta’s actuarial and financial value strategy • Evolve savings, ROI, and actuarial methodologies using medical and pharmacy claims and other healthcare data • Design and evaluate performance guarantees, value-based contracts, and innovative risk arrangements • Advise Commercial Leadership, Product Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Executive Leadership on products, pricing, benefits, and go-to-market strategies • Support strategic sales, renewal, and client conversations as Virta’s senior actuarial authority • Communicate Virta’s economic value to employers, health plans, consultants, and actuaries • Evaluate financial implications of healthcare utilization, pharmacy economics, GLP-1s, and other market dynamics • Define enterprise standards for reusable models, methodologies, tools, and processes • Establish rigorous, transparent, defensible, evidence-based financial modeling approaches • Mentor and develop actuarial and analytics team members • Build product and commercial knowledge, cross-functional relationships, and client context during the first 30 days • Independently own key actuarial analyses and contribute to client, sales, and renewal conversations by 60 days • Identify opportunities to improve ROI methodologies, performance guarantee strategy, and AI and automation workflows by 60 days • Independently support sales pitches and Customer Success conversations and establish priorities for advancing actuarial value strategy by 90 days

🎯 Requirements

• FSA or ASA designation • 12+ years of relevant experience in healthcare actuarial work, healthcare economics, consulting, payer strategy, employer benefits, or a related field • Deep experience using medical and pharmacy claims to measure healthcare cost savings and demonstrate the economic value of value-based care models • Ability to translate complex analyses into credible client- and market-facing narratives • Strong SQL skills • Ability to independently navigate complex healthcare datasets • Ability to leverage AI and emerging tools to accelerate analysis, improve workflows, and increase quality and scalability • Experience translating actuarial and financial analyses into business recommendations • Experience evaluating performance guarantees, value-based arrangements, pricing strategies, or financial risk • Ability to communicate complex quantitative concepts clearly to actuaries, analytics teams, clients, commercial leaders, and executives • Ability to follow Virta’s security and privacy procedures for HIPAA-governed patient information • Legally authorized to work in the United States
