📋 Description

• Gather accurate patient demographic and insurance information during inpatient/outpatient registration • Distribute appropriate information to all departments • Monitor physician-ordered diagnostic tests for medical necessity according to government guidelines • Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits and document information in the AS400 • Notify the Supervisor of self-pay patients and the UR Department of insurance coverage issues • Ensure pre-certifications and authorizations are obtained by physician offices when required • Notify appropriate departments when required pre-certifications or authorizations are not obtained • Perform other duties as assigned according to departmental standards

🎯 Requirements

• Availability to work 8:30 AM–5:00 PM on weekdays • Knowledge of patient demographics and insurance information processes • Ability to verify insurance coverage and benefits • Ability to document information in the AS400 • Knowledge of medical necessity requirements under government guidelines • Ability to manage pre-certifications and authorizations • Ability to perform duties according to departmental standards
