📋 Description

• Strategize, architect, and write technical proposals for Astrobotic's commercial spacecraft delivery services and spacecraft systems • Develop technically credible, convincing, and competitive aerospace proposals for NASA, the DoW, and other government and civilian customers • Draft original proposal content, including product descriptions, technical specifications, and performance requirements • Develop proposal win themes, storyboards, and strategic narrative approaches • Write executive summaries and other critical proposal sections • Interview subject matter experts to gather technical information and incorporate it into proposals • Review technical documentation and convert it into polished, credible proposal content • Work with graphic designers to create compelling visual representations of technical content • Assemble, review, and edit proposals for accuracy, completeness, and guideline adherence • Rework proposal content based on internal and external stakeholder feedback • Provide guidance to other technical writers on the team • Technical-background candidates may help engineer technical solutions being bid in proposals • Work under the supervision of the Director of Proposal Development

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field, such as engineering, the physical sciences, or a related area • 5+ years of experience working in the aerospace industry or a related field • Basic understanding of spacecraft systems and engineering principles • Prior experience writing competitive proposals for funding • Creativity to communicate technical topics through prose and graphics • High-level, strategic thinking to storyboard compelling technical narratives • Strong critical thinking skills to identify and correct technical, logical, and other errors • Excellent writing ability, including strong command of grammar, flow, tone, and conciseness • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams • High attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills • Strong drive to deliver, improve, and succeed • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines for multiple overlapping projects • Applicants must be a U.S. Person: a US Citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3) • Applicants must be eligible to obtain any required export authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or Department of Commerce • Desired: previous experience as a systems engineer, program manager, or project manager in aerospace • Desired: deep understanding of spacecraft systems and engineering principles • Desired: experience writing proposals to NASA or the DoW
