📋 Description

• Build and ship AI capabilities, including prototypes, agents, evaluation frameworks, and safe deployment pipelines • Write code most weeks • Lead hands-on company-wide AI enablement through weekly working sessions, role-specific playbooks, office hours, and AI champions • Redesign core workflows around AI capabilities in partnership with operating teams • Own and publish the AI scorecard, including weekly results, missed metrics, targets, and target-change rationale • Evaluate models, platforms, agent frameworks, and vendors; run proofs of concept; make build-versus-buy decisions; and prevent tool sprawl • Establish AI guardrails, including graduated autonomy, output traceability, permissions, data classification, and acceptable-use policies • Manage the use-case pipeline from intake through prioritization, pilot, rollout, maintenance, and retirement • Retire at least one initiative each quarter with transparent reasoning • Validate outputs against sources, retest after model and tool updates, and define human-oversight requirements • Monitor whether AI improves team capability or increases pressure, pausing new initiatives after two consecutive weeks of declining results • Work with Legal, HR, and IT as partners • Operate within VSE's Holacratic General Company Circle without direct reports

🎯 Requirements

• Track record of personally building and shipping agentic AI systems, automations, or LLM-powered tools that people actually use within the last twelve months • At least 7 years in technology, operations, product, consulting, or transformation roles • At least 2 years of applied generative AI work • Fluency with prompting, agents, tool use, evaluation, retrieval, workflow orchestration, and major model providers • Scripting or coding ability sufficient to prototype, integrate via APIs, and troubleshoot independently • Demonstrated success rolling out AI or automation across a non-technical workforce, with measurable gains in adoption, quality, or efficiency • Experience establishing governance, responsible-AI, or data-handling policies in a live operating environment • Excellent facilitation, coaching, and communication skills • Comfort owning a capability end to end, with direct accountability for results and without a team reporting to you • Experience in a platform technology business, two-sided marketplace, or online B2C company is desired • Experience consolidating scattered AI pilots or tools into one coherent, governed platform is desired • Familiarity with low-code automation platforms, data pipelines, and BI tooling is desired • Experience working in Holacracy or another self-management framework is desired • Must reside in Colorado, Florida, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, or Washington • Must provide examples of tools, agents, workflows, or projects built or led • Must answer application questions regarding experience, coding ability, AI work, prior employment, visa sponsorship, and felony convictions
