📋 Description

• Provide expert support, analysis, and research for complex subject-matter problems and processes • Serve as technical expert on high-level project teams, providing technical direction, interpretation, and alternatives • Develop imaginative, thorough, practicable technical solutions consistent with organizational objectives • Independently determine and develop approaches to solutions under general direction • Contribute to specific programs and projects • Apply expertise in information technology or functional areas such as telecommunications, systems design, integration, security engineering, and communications/network systems management • Splice overhead, underground, or submarine multiple-conductor cables • Access cables using utility poles, towers, truck-mounted lift buckets, sewers, and underground vaults • Cut and peel cable sheaths and insulation to prepare cables for splicing • Test and trace conductors using electrical diagrams and specifications • Clean, tin, and splice conductors using metal clips and soldering • Cover conductors with insulating or fireproofing materials • Fit lead sleeves and create moisture-proof cable joints • Fill completed sleeves with insulating oil • Work on energized circuits when necessary to avoid service interruption • Locate and repair leaks in pressurized cable • Splice underwater cable aboard marine craft when required

🎯 Requirements

• BA/BS in a technical discipline • At least 5 years of experience • Must have and maintain a Secret clearance • Eligible for a Top Secret clearance • Willing to travel 75% or more • Must pass a background check prior to beginning work • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily • Position contingent upon contract award
