📋 Description

• Serve as a strategic partner to Executive, Operations, Recruiting, Marketing, Business Development, Procurement, and People teams • Guide the vision, development, and execution of veterinary medical initiatives across the organization • Foster veterinary leadership excellence, professional development, mission and values alignment, and strategic execution • Drive veterinarian recruitment, engagement, development, and retention strategies • Develop and oversee veterinarian training, leadership development, mentorship, and clinical skills programs • Support veterinarian recruitment, campus recruiting, early-career outreach, succession planning, onboarding, integration, and leadership transitions • Advise on complex clinical situations, medical risk management, professional support, liability, regulatory compliance, and process improvement • Champion veterinarian well-being and professional fulfillment • Lead the WVP Medical Advisory Board, including recruiting members, coordinating communication, and advancing initiatives • Partner with organizational leaders on strategic initiatives across Operations, Recruiting, Business Development, Procurement, Marketing, IT, and People Operations • Support vendor relationships, clinical partnerships, educational programs, and career advancement programs • Monitor veterinary medicine trends, research, innovations, and technologies and recommend improvements • Report to the Chief Executive Officer and work closely with the Chief Operating Officer

🎯 Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) degree from an accredited institution • Active veterinary license in at least one U.S. state • Minimum of five years of clinical veterinary practice experience • Minimum of three years of progressive leadership experience within the veterinary profession • Minimum of three years of experience advising on veterinary medical standards, policies, or clinical programs • Experience leading multi-site veterinary organizations preferred • Demonstrated success in veterinarian recruitment, retention, and leadership development preferred • Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, or practice transitions preferred • Strong understanding of veterinary business operations and organizational strategy preferred • Strategic leadership, business acumen, collaboration, relationship building, communication, conflict resolution, change management, executive presence, talent development, coaching, presentation, and facilitation skills
