📋 Description

• Provide strategic leadership for World Fuel's global indirect tax function • Serve as the senior authority on indirect tax matters across the enterprise • Develop and execute the long-term vision and operating model for the function • Align tax strategy with business objectives in partnership with senior leadership • Oversee indirect tax compliance across all global jurisdictions • Ensure accurate, timely, and complete filing obligations • Maintain governance and controls frameworks • Lead audit readiness and indirect tax risk management • Monitor regulatory developments and assess business impacts • Lead a high-performing global organization focused on execution and accountability • Drive process improvements that enhance efficiency, scalability, and effectiveness • Establish consistent standards and best practices across teams and regions • Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Audit, Technology, and Commercial leaders • Provide practical, business-focused guidance on complex indirect tax matters • Support strategic initiatives, acquisitions, integrations, and business transformation efforts • Communicate complex tax matters to executive stakeholders • Lead, mentor, and develop a global team of indirect tax professionals • Build organizational capability and succession plans • Foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement • Identify opportunities for process enhancement, standardization, and automation • Champion technology solutions that improve efficiency and transparency • Partner with Finance and Technology teams on scalable operating models • Drive modernization initiatives that create measurable business value

🎯 Requirements

• 15+ years of progressive experience in indirect tax, tax compliance, tax governance, or related finance leadership roles • Significant leadership experience within large multinational organizations • Deep expertise in U.S. indirect taxes, including Sales & Use Tax, Motor Fuel Tax, Excise Tax, Jet Fuel Tax, and Gross Receipts Tax • Strong understanding of international indirect tax regimes, including VAT, GST, HST, mineral oil taxes, and similar frameworks • Proven experience leading geographically dispersed teams • Demonstrated success advising senior executives and influencing key stakeholders • Strong leadership, communication, and people development capabilities • Preferred: experience in energy, fuel, commodities, transportation, logistics, aviation, manufacturing, or other highly regulated industries • Preferred: experience managing indirect tax functions supporting multiple business units and jurisdictions • Preferred: experience leading large indirect tax organizations in complex global environments • Preferred: exposure to ERP platforms, tax technology solutions, and indirect tax automation tools • Preferred: experience supporting business transformation, process improvement, or operating model enhancements
