📋 Description

• Own defined data collection, management, analysis, and reporting workstreams from planning through customer-ready delivery • Apply the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard and Scope 2 and Scope 3 guidance to establish boundaries, identify emissions sources, document exclusions, and maintain calculation methodologies • Develop customer data collection strategies, including source mapping, data-owner identification, request templates, schedules, evidence requirements, and escalation paths • Coordinate with customers, suppliers, utilities, internal WM teams, and data owners to request information, clarify assumptions, resolve gaps, and document decisions • Collect, clean, reconcile, transform, and organize complex multi-source datasets while maintaining source traceability • Develop and maintain data workflows, calculation models, file structures, data dictionaries, process documentation, QA/QC checks, and version-control practices • Calculate and quality-check Scope 1, Scope 2, and relevant Scope 3 emissions using emission factors, unit conversions, estimation methods, and calculation tools • Assess data completeness, accuracy, consistency, and representativeness; identify anomalies and gaps; recommend resolutions; and escalate material risks • Research and benchmark GHG accounting methods, emissions factors, reporting frameworks, sector practices, and decarbonization solutions • Analyze inventory results to identify material emissions sources, trends, drivers, and reduction opportunities • Prepare customer-ready tables, inventories, visualizations, dashboards, reports, presentations, and methodology documentation • Support customer meetings by preparing data requests and materials, presenting findings, capturing decisions, and completing follow-up actions • Manage timelines, dependencies, and deliverables; communicate progress; and flag risks or delays with recommended paths forward • Improve templates, workflows, automation opportunities, and reporting structures to increase efficiency and scalability • Maintain organized project files and records for continuity, auditability, customer review, and compliance • Support third-party verification by organizing source records, preparing evidence packages, responding to questions, and documenting changes or corrective actions • Maintain current knowledge of GHG accounting, sustainability reporting, emissions factors, decarbonization, and climate disclosure requirements • Evaluate and incorporate AI-enabled tools and automation into materials management workflows while maintaining quality controls • Ensure compliance with customer and government requirements, promote safety, and perform other assigned duties

🎯 Requirements

• Must live and work in the U.S. • Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Sustainability, Business or related field • High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four years of relevant experience • 2 years of relevant work experience in data analytics, dashboarding or data visualization, environmental consulting, GHG accounting, sustainability reporting, business analysis, regulatory research, or related work, in addition to education requirement • Experience managing, cleaning, reconciling, and analyzing multi-source datasets and documenting repeatable data processes • Experience conducting or supporting organizational GHG inventories in accordance with the GHG Protocol • Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, lookups, pivot tables, data validation, structured tables, and quality-control techniques • Strong data management skills, including data cleaning, reconciliation, transformation, documentation, file organization, and version control • Working knowledge of relational data concepts, data visualization, dashboard development, and repeatable analytical workflows • Applied understanding of the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard and principles for defining inventory boundaries and categorizing Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 sources • Ability to apply activity data, emission factors, unit conversions, estimation approaches, and quality checks for GHG calculations • Ability to evaluate data quality, identify anomalies and gaps, document assumptions and limitations, and develop resolution strategies • Ability to translate complex data and GHG inventory results into actionable insights and decarbonization recommendations • Ability to design practical data collection strategies and communicate with data owners, suppliers, customers, and project teams • Ability to prepare traceable documentation and evidence for audit, assurance, and third-party verification • Ability to own defined workstreams, manage multiple priorities, anticipate needs, and communicate risks and progress with minimal supervision • Clear written and verbal communication skills • Working knowledge of mandatory climate disclosure and GHG reporting requirements, including California SB 253 • High proficiency with Microsoft Office and adaptability to new software, data platforms, and emissions-management systems • Familiarity with AI-enabled tools and willingness to incorporate them responsibly into workflows • Self-motivated and able to deliver results while working remotely, in an office, or at a customer site • Ability to travel up to 35%, including trips of up to two weeks at a time • REAL ID or TSA-approved alternative, or willingness to obtain one, may be required for air travel or federal property access
