• Lead procurement and logistics operations to rapidly purchase and deliver essential food items to kitchens and disaster-affected communities • Respond with four hours notice to disaster areas as Supply Chain Manager, managing relief operations on the ground or, rarely, remotely • Lead and manage field supply-chain teams and operationalize WCK’s North Star values • Design and implement adaptable response strategies in high-stress environments affected by disasters or conflicts • Recruit, onboard, train, and manage local hires and Corps members • Consult on response scope and manage or implement supply-chain operations • Provide regular operational updates to the Response Director • Collaborate with WCK departments on the ground or remotely • Ensure smooth transitions and complete handovers between managers and rotating Response Corps teams • Complete after-action reports and identify process improvements • Oversee inventory, purchasing, local sourcing, supplier negotiations, transportation, storage, distribution, customs, and freight-forwarding operations • Build and maintain field kitchens, including plumbing, water filtration, propane, electricity, and HVAC • Manage vendors for equipment rentals, water delivery, wastewater, grease, waste, recycling, and fuel services • Establish teams to maintain, troubleshoot, and improve kitchen infrastructure safely • Share cost projections with Finance and the Response Director • Recruit, train, motivate, mentor, and provide feedback to activation personnel • Identify professional development and supply-chain capability gaps • Build relationships with local communities and conduct outreach and engagement • Represent WCK to beneficiaries, partners, and media as required
• Ability to spend up to 70% of the time in the field; typical activation duration is four (4) weeks, potentially longer • Must live within one (1) hour of an international airport or be willing to relocate • Willingness and ability to travel frequently to remote and potentially hazardous locations within four hours notice • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or 5+ years of experience in management roles, preferably in fast paced, ever changing environments, including military, emergency response, culinary, humanitarian or event management settings • Experience leading, training and coaching large teams in challenging and rapidly changing environments • Ability to work independently with minimal infrastructure and resources • Willingness to work in challenging environments with austere living conditions • Ability to work well with others and take directions to protect yourself and the team • Demonstrated negotiation and diplomacy skills in complex and potentially volatile situations • Calm and composed demeanor during crisis situations, with capacity to make sound decisions under pressure • Physical fitness and stamina to work long hours doing physically demanding tasks in varying and potentially extreme climates • Strong mental resilience and emotional intelligence for working in conflict environments • Cultural awareness and sensitivity when working with diverse local communities • Fluency in English required; Spanish, French, or Portuguese highly desirable • Must have a valid Driver's License • Must have a valid Passport • Cover letter required; applications without one will not be considered • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States • Subject to reference and background checks • No recruiters or agencies
