📋 Description

• Review medical record documentation to determine appropriate billing codes and necessary documentation • Identify pertinent facts needed to select comprehensive diagnoses and procedures describing patients’ conditions and treatment • Code evaluation and management to appropriate CPT codes and diagnoses to appropriate ICD-10 codes • Meet with physicians to review documentation, resolve coding, and secure signatures for unsigned dates of service • Tag files for follow-up • Act as lead person and assist coders and IBC staff with medical terminology and policy interpretation • Assist efforts to increase physician awareness of documentation requirements • Prepare case reports and initiate follow-up for the billing process • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Must have one of the following coding credentials: AHIMA (CCA, CCS, or CCS-P); AAPC (CPC, CPC-A, CPC-H, CPC-H-A, or one of the AAPC specialty-specific coding credentials) • Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding • No specific work experience is required • A diploma, certification or degree is not required • Driver's license is not required • Must complete applicable pre-employment screening, including criminal background check and verification of employment and education or licensure/certification as applicable • Preferred: Previous coding experience or experience equivalent to an associate’s degree in a related field • Preferred: Associate degree in Medical Coding & Billing • Preferred: Computer Systems, ICD-10 Procedure Coding System, Medical Billing and Coding, Medical Terminology
