📋 Description

• Perform pre-award grant duties for complex proposals, including program projects, ARPA-H, DOD, and DOE applications • Work with faculty on proposal preparation and submission • Manage proposal budgets, analyses, and justifications • Gather protocol information and non-technical proposal components • Liaise between the Chair, faculty, and department administrators • Monitor federal and university research administration developments and regulations • Coordinate submissions, pricing quotes, signatures, agency forms, online budget documents, and subaward setup • Coordinate with Post-award and OSRS to implement contracts and subcontracts • Review complex notices of award and communicate special terms, conditions, and committed effort • Monitor annual agency reports, including RPPRs • Coordinate transfers of grants and contracts into and out of WashU • Support research compliance requests involving biosketches, trainees, and human or animal protocol approvals • Analyze grant submission, award, rejection, and funding-trend metrics • Organize action plans and deadline alerts for continuations, renewals, and progress reports • Close complex sponsored project accounts and submit final reports and invention statements • Manage complex sponsored-project budgets, expenditures, reconciliations, subawards, and purchasing documents • Process grant-agency correspondence, budget changes, prior approvals, no-cost extensions, and carry-forward requests • Maintain grant databases and prepare monthly financial reports for PIs and senior leadership • Assist with fund reconciliation, spending monitoring, overdrafts, cost-sharing commitments, and budget adjustments • Provide fund-management guidance to PIs and process necessary budgetary changes • Prepare invoices and track sponsor payments when applicable • Assist senior leadership with special projects and perform other assigned duties

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education • 3 years of relevant experience • Experience managing complex pre-award and post-award sponsored projects • Knowledge of S2S, Research Management System (RMS), and SUBS system preferred • Knowledge of agency guidelines preferred • Proficiency with accounting processes and computerized accounting • Computer literacy and Microsoft Office proficiency • Experience with IBM Cognos Analytics and Workday Software • Grant administration knowledge • Deadline management skills • Analytical and written communication skills • No specific certification or professional license is required • A driver's license is not required
