📋 Description

• Coordinate and monitor the lifecycle of the legal health record through analysis, release of information, optical imaging, and auditing functions. • Acquire, manage, analyze, interpret, and transform health information data into accurate, timely information. • Coordinate electronic and paper protected health information (PHI). • Provide ongoing education and communication to hospital and clinic employees regarding documentation retention. • Ensure team members are trained in preparation, scanning, and indexing of documentation. • Conduct and review quality assurance audits for optical imaging staff and personnel entering paper or electronic information into the legal health record. • Serve as a HIM support resource and coordinate departmental special projects. • Facilitate and design optimized workflows, processes, and procedures. • Collaborate with the Forms Committee Liaison, Local HIM Supervisor, and IT Application Systems Analyst regarding legal health record accessibility. • Coordinate maintenance, retention, retrieval, and disposition of legal health records and other records in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. • Support Warehouse, MyWVUChart, Affiliate Link, and West Virginia Health Information Network initiatives when appropriate. • Support education regarding Media Manager front-end scanning. • Provide weekly management reports on employee quality assurance and productivity compliance. • Identify, describe, and maintain organizational information assets.

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent. • Two (2) years’ experience in HIM Department operations OR an Associate degree in Health Information Technology, Health Information Management, or another applicable field. • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in health information technology or related field. • Preferred: Registered Health Information Technologists (RHIT) credentials or Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA). • Ability to lift, push or pull 11–20 pounds. • Ability to sit for sustained periods of time and long periods of time. • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. • Basic mathematical skills. • Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
