📋 Description

• Review and interpret medical record documentation to identify diagnoses and procedures affecting inpatient stays or outpatient encounters • Assign appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and modifier codes • Complete accurate, quality, and timely coding, charging, and account abstraction for assigned specialty areas • Maintain and enhance coding knowledge through reviews, in-services, seminars, meetings, reference materials, and coding manual updates • Review data needed to obtain clean bills • Contact physicians and other personnel to obtain information required for accurate coding • Communicate with other offices to facilitate billing • Monitor provider documentation and audit provider coding accuracy • Provide provider education as needed • Assist Revenue Cycle Operations with claim development and problem patient accounts

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent • Current HIM/Coding Certification through AHIMA or AAPC • Two (2) years of medical coding experience • Professional-based experience in multispecialty • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology • Ability to sit for long periods of time • Visual and hearing acuity within the normal range • Manual dexterity to operate computer and office equipment • Ability to lift, push, or pull 10–20 pounds • Ability to concentrate and maintain accuracy during constant interruptions • Independent decision-making ability • Ability to prioritize job duties • Ability to handle high-stress situations • Ability to adapt to workplace changes • Ability to organize and complete assigned tasks • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to meet quality and productivity standards
