📋 Description

• Manage day-to-day operations of Information Technology staff, including workload, payroll, career growth, performance reviews, timecards, vacation, and on-call schedules • Lead professional development, onboarding, training, mentoring, and team building • Coordinate design, development, testing, implementation, upgrades, and maintenance of new and legacy systems • Lead customer collaboration to identify system solutions, streamline operations, and ensure patient safety and confidentiality • Oversee production issues, escalation, complex test scripts, testing, documentation, outages, and system performance restoration • Evaluate and document operational performance, incidents, service requests, and problem resolutions for complex systems • Use reporting workbench, report writers, Chronicle, SQL, advanced Excel macros, and specialized analysis and reporting tools • Coordinate projects, resource allocation, work estimates, milestones, vendor calls, status reports, upgrades, and test plans • Develop processes and procedures, improve turnaround times, lead team meetings, and escalate issues to the Manager • Facilitate training programs and support strategic planning and system training environments • Perform or oversee complex system analyses, design, simulation, and system process or data structure changes • Manage applications support and deployment across HR, ER, business, clinical, PACS, EMR/EPIC, cardiology, laboratory, and pharmacy environments • Oversee backend hardware, Unix/Linux, storage, server, virtualization, security-control, SIEM, financial, web, and Epic ancillary services teams • Manage analytics initiatives, data governance, data quality, data models, pipelines, reporting structures, and delivery of concurrent projects • Ensure customer satisfaction and adherence to WVUHS and entity policies

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, computer science, business, informatics or related field and three (3) years of relatable IT experience; OR Associate’s degree and four (4) years of relatable IT experience; OR High School Diploma or equivalent and five (5) years of relatable IT experience • Internal employees must meet all mandatory competencies in their current position to qualify for promotion within IT • Experience supporting day-to-day Information Technology department activities • Technical experience with software development, application support, HL7 interfaces, or related areas • Working knowledge of Epic clinical and operational workflows, including ambulatory scheduling, registration, inpatient ADT, Clarity, and Caboodle • Data literacy and ability to translate technical findings for operational and clinical leaders • Experience managing executive-level stakeholder relationships and presenting findings, recommendations, and project updates • Ability to identify data quality or workflow issues at the source • Experience establishing or enforcing data definitions, lineage, and stewardship standards across Epic and/or Microsoft Fabric environments • Experience designing data models, pipelines, and reporting structures in Microsoft Fabric, SQL Server, and/or Power BI • Demonstrated experience managing analytics teams, including hiring, mentoring, developing analyst talent, and overseeing multiple concurrent analytics projects • Proven project management skills, including scoping work, setting timelines, managing competing priorities, and ensuring on-time delivery • Ability to balance competing priorities from multiple executive sponsors and build credibility across clinical, operational, and IT domains • Ability to handle confidential information • Ability to work independently, cooperatively, under high-stress conditions, and in rapidly changing environments • Ability to work with multidisciplinary groups and facilitate meetings • Reading, comprehension, typing, oral and written communication, prioritization, independent decision-making, project coordination, and mentoring skills • May require additional certification within a defined period • Ability to participate in on-call responsibilities and travel to WVUHS facilities or affiliated sites as needed
