• Oversee preparation, review, and timely filing of federal, state, local, and industry-specific tax returns and regulatory filings • Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements across all operating jurisdictions • Manage sales and use tax, excise tax, franchise tax, property tax, payroll tax, and other applicable filings • Monitor tax legislation and communicate business impacts to leadership • Develop tax planning strategies with Finance leadership to support business objectives and minimize tax exposure • Research tax issues and provide recommendations regarding transactions, acquisitions, and organizational initiatives • Evaluate tax implications of new products, operations, and expansion into new markets • Support tax planning, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic financial planning • Prepare and review tax provisions, reconciliations, journal entries, supporting schedules, and disclosures • Collaborate with Accounting during month-end and year-end close • Ensure tax accounts in the general ledger are accurate and reconciled • Assist with income-tax financial statement disclosures • Coordinate tax audits, examinations, and agency information requests • Partner with external tax advisors and auditors on annual audits and compliance reviews • Maintain tax documentation and records for regulatory compliance and audit readiness • Resolve tax notices, assessments, and inquiries • Develop, implement, and maintain tax policies, procedures, and internal controls • Improve tax processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency • Support implementation and optimization of tax software and reporting systems • Partner with Accounting, Payroll, Sales, Operations, and external consultants • Provide technical tax guidance and training to internal stakeholders • Lead special tax-related projects and perform additional duties as assigned
• Five (5) to eight (8) years of progressive tax experience in public accounting and/or corporate tax • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation preferred • CPA preferred • Experience with multi-state tax compliance and reporting required • Experience in consumer-packaged goods (CPG) or regulated industries preferred • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as they relate to income taxes • Must have experience working with a high sense of urgency in a team environment or independently • Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills • Ability to interpret complex tax regulations and communicate recommendations clearly • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills • Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to develop efficient, scalable tax processes • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively lead peers and communicate across teams • Ability to work with a strong sense of urgency while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced manufacturing environment • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion • Familiarity with basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and work management systems such as Slack, Jira, or similar platforms • Ability to travel occasionally between Company buildings or work sites, as needed • Must be at least 21 years of age, as required by applicable state regulations • Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check, where permitted by law • Must obtain and maintain all licenses, permits, certifications, or registrations required by applicable federal, state, provincial, or local laws and regulations • ServSafe Certification or Food Handler's Card is preferred, where applicable • Compliance with all company safety, sanitation, quality, and food safety policies is required at all times • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule
