📋 Description

• Enhance and maintain public-facing applications supporting the USGS National Geospatial Technical Operations Center and The National Map • Learn and improve existing applications • Improve functionality and data presentation • Troubleshoot issues • Identify efficient ways for information to move through the environment • Use JavaScript for application development • Use AWS technologies to support and automate cloud-based data workflows • Test and improve existing solutions • Improve code efficiency and scalability • Collaborate in a technical environment to develop maintainable solutions

🎯 Requirements

• Ability to receive / maintain a favorable adjudicated Public Trust investigation • Must be a US Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident for at least 3 years • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field plus 2 years of relevant experience in software or applications engineering • Proficiency in JavaScript • Hands-on experience with the AWS SDK and AWS CLI • Familiarity with AWS Lambda, S3, and EC2 • Understanding of version control, debugging, testing, algorithms, and data structures • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Python experience preferred • Experience with HTML, CSS, React, Angular, or other modern front-end technologies preferred • Back-end development experience using Node.js or similar technologies preferred • Familiarity with RESTful API design and integration preferred • Additional experience with AWS, Azure, or other cloud environments preferred • Familiarity with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, or related Esri technologies preferred
