📋 Description

• Lead and manage a team of System Design Engineers and System Designers • Facilitate project assignments, workload distribution, and staff training • Evaluate performance, provide reviews, set professional development goals, and recommend promotions and recognition • Create, edit, review, and proof design and engineering drawing package components • Participate in technical architectural design and coordination for door hardware, device mounting, mechanical and electrical infrastructure, structured cabling, and network/telecom infrastructure • Present calculations and make recommendations on architectural specifications • Review and comment on contractor submittals • Conduct technical studies including cable distance, voltage drop, cable fill, conduit sizing, power, heat loading, equipment test fits, camera angles, pixels on target, bandwidth, storage, IDF loading, and cost estimation • Develop, manage, and maintain engineering standards, processes, tools, and documentation formats • Maintain staff training and competency levels • Build career paths and assist with career development • Monitor project performance, commitments, deliverables, assignments, workload distribution, and quality control • Guide and mentor design staff and foster collaboration • Work with the Project Manager from design through closeout • Research existing and emerging technologies, products, and platforms • Advise on project technical issues and solutions with ZBeta LabZ • Research and resolve client and project issues involving applicable codes, standards, and regulations

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of security system design and/or security technology experience required • 2+ years of Revit and/or AutoCAD experience required • Experience managing a team preferred • Associate degree, Autodesk Certified Professional in Revit for Electrical Design, or relevant work experience • Proficiency in Lenel security system hardware and programming required • Genetec, C•CURE, and other security system hardware and programming are a plus • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office software • Proficiency in Bluebeam and Navisworks • Proficiency in computer-aided design software such as Revit and AutoCAD required • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and work quality • Technical aptitude and facility with software applications required • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills • Ability to organize and present design information to clients • Ability to work Monday–Friday, 7 am–4 pm or 8 am–5 pm, with extended hours in local time zone • Quiet, designated workspace and high-speed internet (minimum 200 Mbps download, 10 Mbps upload) • Not eligible for visa sponsorship • Ability to meet client and/or government security screening requirements • Verification of U.S. citizenship required • Successful completion of a background check required upon hire and every two years thereafter
