• Translate medical, pharmaceutical, administrative, commercial, advertising, and media-related documents from English into French • Review primarily French-language texts, with this responsibility increasing over time • Review internal and external vendor translations to ensure terminological consistency and accuracy • Respond to consultation requests from various business functions and share knowledge with the team • Collaborate on planning, prioritizing, and managing translation and editing requests • Advise internal clients and colleagues and consult stakeholders in specialized areas • Create and maintain glossaries, lexicons, and writing standards • Collaborate on the management of computer-assisted translation tools and stay current with innovations • Serve as a liaison with translation vendors and strategic internal clients • Develop initiatives promoting the use of French, including those organized as part of Francofête • Participate in activities related to the company’s French-language compliance obligations • Draft and manage Linguistic Services management and operational documents • Represent AbbVie Canada’s interests with AbbVie’s global organizations • Collaborate on resource optimization • Propose pragmatic solutions to business problems • Support change and innovation with the company’s strategic functions
• Bachelor’s degree (BA) in English-French translation or an equivalent qualification • Relevant experience and strong knowledge of the health or life sciences sector; experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry is an asset • Minimum 10 years of experience translating from English into French • Minimum 5 years of experience in comparative English-to-French revision • Experience translating, updating, and reviewing product monographs for medicines and medical devices • Professional designation (OTTIAQ, ATIO, or equivalent) is an asset • Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to the value and quality of language • Ability to think and plan strategically while delivering with excellence • Ability to build strong partnerships with key stakeholders • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines • Excellent command of industry phrasing and terminology • Technologically proficient and comfortable using the tools and systems required for day-to-day work • Knowledge of LogiTerm is an asset • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.) • Fluency in French, very strong knowledge of English, strong writing skills, and impeccable style • Ability to work in a multinational organization • Innovative mindset, analytical skills, and risk-aware thinking • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively • Strategic understanding and precision in verbal and written communications • Strong analytical skills for solving business problems • Active listening skills when engaging with internal stakeholders • Advanced English proficiency is an essential requirement for the role
