📋 Description

• Translate medical, pharmaceutical, administrative, commercial, advertising and media documents from English into French • Preserve the content, meaning and intent of source texts, including highly scientific and high-visibility documents • Revise internally and externally produced French translations for consistent wording and terminology • Plan, prioritize and manage translation and revision requests • Provide expert advice to internal clients and colleagues • Consult with clients and colleagues on specialized-field translations • Create and update glossaries, lexicons and style guides collaboratively • Participate in management of computer-assisted translation tools and track innovations • Liaise with translation service providers and strategic internal clients • Promote French use throughout the company, including Francofête initiatives • Participate in tasks related to AbbVie Canada’s francization obligations • Draft and manage Linguistic Services operating and coordination documents • Represent AbbVie Canada’s interests with AbbVie teams worldwide • Optimize resource use, recommend practical business solutions, and support change and innovation • Assist Linguistic Services team members with departmental planning tasks • Share knowledge with other Linguistic Services team members

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (BA) in English-to-French translation or the equivalent • Minimum of ten years of experience in English-to-French translation • Minimum of five years of experience in comparative English-to-French revision • Experience translating, updating and revising product monographs for drugs and medical devices • Relevant experience combined with good knowledge of the health or life sciences field • Advanced proficiency in French • Very good understanding and fluency in English • Strong writing skills and impeccable style • Excellent knowledge of industry-specific phraseology and terminology • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines • Ease with technology and day-to-day tools/systems • Ability to interact and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels • Ability to work at a multinational company • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Professional certification (OTTIAQ, ATIO or equivalent), an asset • Knowledge of LogiTerm, an asset
