• Translate medical, pharmaceutical, administrative, commercial, advertising and media texts from English into French • Preserve the content, meaning and intent of source texts • Work on highly scientific and high-visibility documents concerning AbbVie products and activities • Revise internally produced and externally supplied translations for consistent wording and terminology • Help plan, prioritize and manage translation and revision requests • Provide expert advice to internal clients and colleagues • Consult with clients and colleagues when translating in specialized fields • Collaboratively create and update glossaries, lexicons and style guides • Participate in management of computer-assisted translation tools and follow innovations • Liaise with translation service providers and strategic internal clients • Develop initiatives promoting French throughout the company, particularly in connection with Francofête • Participate in tasks related to AbbVie’s francization obligations • Draft and manage documents supporting Linguistic Services operations • Represent AbbVie Canada’s interests with AbbVie worldwide • Contribute to optimizing resource use and resolving business problems • Support change and innovation with strategic company functions
• Bachelor’s degree (BA) in English-to-French translation or the equivalent • Relevant experience combined with good knowledge of the health or life sciences field • Minimum of ten years of experience in English-to-French translation • Minimum of five years of experience in comparative English-to-French revision • Experience translating, updating and revising product monographs for drugs and medical devices • Professional certification (OTTIAQ, ATIO or equivalent), an asset • Strong attention to detail and respect for language quality • Ability to think and plan strategically and execute with excellence • Ability to build strong partnerships with key stakeholders • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously • Ability to work independently, deliver quality documents and respect deadlines • Excellent knowledge of industry-specific phraseology and terminology • Strong sense of responsibility, adaptability and curiosity • Ease with technology and various tools/systems • Knowledge of LogiTerm, an asset • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word • Advanced proficiency in French • Very good understanding and fluency in English • Strong writing skills and impeccable style • Ability to interact with individuals at all levels, internal and external • Ability to work at a multinational company • Risk-based thinking and an innovative, analytical mindset • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively • Strategic understanding in verbal and written communication • Strong analytical skills for solving business problems and thinking independently • Ability to actively listen to internal stakeholders • Must be able to work in a French/English business environment involving employees and clients outside Quebec
