• Establish and maintain strategic relationships with new and existing customers • Prepare and present technical sales presentations focused on the company’s value proposition • Review customer inquiries and ensure complete understanding of specifications and requirements • Price and prepare customer quotations according to company policies • Maintain the sales pipeline and provide core data to AES Canada’s commercial department for reporting • Interact with the local indirect sales channel for support and special projects • Make regular sales calls to key existing and prospective customers • Understand customer needs, educate engineering staff, and assess business environments • Participate in site audits and translate equipment observations into customer solutions • Recommend improvements or actions to secure business • Present cost savings and return-on-investment calculations for project justifications • Coordinate and present training • Project expected sales and future actions for inventory planning • Research prospective customers and conduct proactive sales and survey calls to generate new business • Collect and retain competitive pricing and service information • Recommend marketing strategies to promote company products efficiently and cost-effectively • Provide annual sales budget recommendations • Provide written plans, call reports, and other documentation on time • Adhere to company travel and expense policies • Perform other duties assigned according to business needs
• Postsecondary education in an Engineering discipline from an accredited university, or Interprovincial Trades qualification, or equivalent mechanical aptitude and industry experience will be considered • Minimum of 5 years of industrial sales experience, and/or mechanical seals, pumps, rotating equipment • Direct involvement in Oil & Gas, Chemical and Petrochemical, Pulp and Paper, Mining, or Water & Wastewater sectors • People, sales, and service orientation • Ability to maintain and develop customer contacts and relationships • Ability to prospect new clients • Computer literacy with Microsoft Office and ability to use technology to source and find information • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Basic understanding of engineering principles and ability to read and understand material specifications and drawings • Troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving capability • Professional attitude and appearance • Strong work ethic, self-motivation, desire to succeed, and ability to work independently • High attention to detail • Ability to deliver on growth and profitability • Enthusiasm and desire to contribute to a winning culture • Have lived in Ontario 2 of the last 10 years (or in Canada 5 of the last 25 years) • Must be eligible immediately to work full time in Canada
