📋 Description

• Own the Excel plugin strategy and connect AlphaSense’s AI-driven market intelligence platform with Microsoft Excel • Develop and ship production-grade features for the Excel plugin while respecting Excel’s performance and stability requirements • Work with Excel’s object model, calculation engine, and event system to deliver native-feeling features accessing cloud-based intelligence • Optimize complex operations, memory usage, and plugin performance • Follow and contribute to development, testing, deployment, and monitoring standards for Office plugins • Support junior engineers through code reviews and pairing • Establish the technical foundation and best practices for AlphaSense’s Office integration strategy

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years building and operating large-scale production systems • Deep expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern development practices • Strong understanding of asynchronous programming, state management, and event-driven architectures • Experience with enterprise software deployment, updates, and version management • Track record of building performant applications with excellent error handling and recovery • Excellence in debugging complex integration issues and memory/performance optimization • Ability to mentor teams and establish development best practices • Preferred: Production experience with Office JavaScript API, VSTO, or COM add-ins • Preferred: Knowledge of Excel's calculation engine, object model, and common power-user patterns • Preferred: Understanding of financial modeling, data analysis workflows, or trading systems • Preferred: Experience with React and modern frontend frameworks
