📋 Description

• Lead engineering at System Dynamics, the Beacon company building DYNAMIC 3i ERP software for distribution and manufacturing businesses • Make architecture, infrastructure, release, and priority decisions • Assess, coach, upgrade, and hire engineering team members • Own OCI compute and databases, site-to-site VPNs, operating-system and database patching, backups, and disaster recovery • Own and modernize the release pipeline from ticket through staged release and customer update • Reduce operational risk by replacing aging infrastructure, decommissioning a colocation facility, hardening disaster recovery, and documenting operational knowledge • Move schema and PL/SQL into Git with migrations and versioned APEX applications • Establish isolated development environments, automated tests, CI gates, and code review practices • Introduce AI coding agents for schema and PL/SQL work, ticket-history analysis, and Forms-to-APEX migration • Lead modernization of Forms and Reports 12c and approximately 1,000 APEX applications • Migrate on-premises and colocation customers to OCI, including VPNs, data transfer, application setup, and weekend cutovers • Build alerting and an on-call rotation to improve uptime • Communicate with the GM, customer IT staff, customer DBAs, and support teams

🎯 Requirements

• Experience leading a small engineering team while still shipping code • Experience coaching team members, making performance decisions, and hiring • Ability to make final technical decisions with incomplete information and explain tradeoffs • Senior generalist skills across databases, Linux, networking, deployment, and application code • Experience owning production infrastructure, databases, Linux fleets, backups, and disaster recovery • Experience improving codebases with technical debt while continuing to ship • Track record introducing Git, CI, automated testing, and code review • Daily use of coding agents and practical opinions about their application • Hands-on ability to write PL/SQL, edit deployment scripts, and debug IPSec tunnels • Clear technical writing for decisions, runbooks, and standards
