• Review, analyze, and make recommendations regarding cases concerning licensees’ professional obligations • Gather additional information from complainants and licensees for preliminary review • Analyze case information and identify issues • Provide recommendations to the supervisor based on risk assessment and case analysis • Perform alternate dispute resolution for cases in the early-resolution stream • Educate complainants and licensees about the process and relevant Codes, By-laws, and regulations • Identify Unauthorized Practitioners and share information with Professional Conduct Department members for follow-up • Summarize cases and prepare supporting documentation for the Complaints Committee, including triage memoranda and risk assessment worksheets • Attend Complaints Committee meetings and take minutes as required • Present cases to the Complaints Committee through written summaries and oral presentations • Collect additional supporting documentation and perform case assessments as required • Facilitate case resolutions • Draft and finalize Settlement Agreements with the parties • Prepare documentation of Committee decisions, including closing letters, referrals, and letters of appointment • Summarize issues, information, and decisions and incorporate relevant regulatory content • Maintain case files and documentation according to Department processes • Maintain knowledge of College policies, regulations, strategies, legislation, trends, and best practices • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to meet legislative compliance requirements without delay
• Bilingual imperative • College Diploma in business administration, law, or immigration • 1–3 years of experience working in a law firm, administrative tribunal or regulatory body • Knowledge of legal and administrative law concepts, principles, and terminology • Ability to acquire knowledge of the College Act, regulations, By-laws, and Code of Professional Conduct • Knowledge of ADR techniques and appropriate application • Knowledge of, or ability to acquire knowledge of, the Canadian immigration system • Knowledge of office/administrative software, online storage and case management systems • Time management and organizational skills • Analytical, problem-solving and judgment skills • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment and demonstrate initiative • Interpersonal and stakeholder relationship management skills, including de-escalation and ADR engagement • Written and verbal communication skills • Attention to detail • Tact and discretion when handling confidential and sensitive matters • Legally entitled to work in Canada • Successful candidate must undergo a criminal background check
