📋 Description

• Work across the full stack to build highly scalable distributed solutions • Ensure system reliability, performance, and operational excellence through tests, telemetry, and alerting • Own projects from conception through production release • Influence, facilitate, and work across different teams • Partner with engineering managers, product managers, and collaborators to define team direction based on engineering and business priorities • Solve software defects, networking issues, and customer-reported problems • Improve system performance, scalability, and reliability • Define project milestones from loosely defined business problems and identify progress metrics • Work across all layers of the stack in an agile engineering environment

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field and 12+ years of related experience, or Master’s degree with 8+ years, or PhD with 5+ years of related experience • 3+ years of professional coding experience with web backend technologies such as Ruby on Rails or similar • Experience with Go, Ruby, or Python • Experience rolling services out safely using feature flags and A/B tests • Demonstrated experience making architectural and system design choices • Ability to communicate trade-offs and coach other team members • Practical experience with emulation and simulation of networking devices • Project leadership experience defining project milestones and tracking metrics • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced agile engineering team and solve open-ended problems across the stack • Preferred: experience with networking devices • Preferred: experience with Cisco CML • Preferred: systems software design or large-scale distributed networking solutions experience • Preferred: experience across cross-functional or geographically distributed engineering teams
