📋 Description

• Develop strategies and build strong relationships to establish intervention plans facilitating insured individuals’ recovery and timely, sustainable return to work • Communicate by phone and mail with various parties to understand the absence context and communicate decisions to insured individuals and policyholders • Approve and adjudicate claims • Process waivers of premium • Establish benefit amounts and payable periods • Process payments and complete necessary follow-ups • Prepare documents for rehabilitation coordinator claimant interviews • Review claims with medical consultants and the legal department as required • Process disability claims according to group insurance contract terms

🎯 Requirements

• College diploma in a related field • Minimum of three years of relevant experience as a disability claims specialist, including short- and/or long-term disability management, return-to-work, or claims adjudication • Relevant healthcare experience such as rehabilitation, nursing, kinesiology, physiotherapy, psychology, or occupational health • Other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered • Advanced proficiency in English • Must reside in Ontario, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, or the Atlantic region • Action oriented • Ambiguity • Complexity • Customer Focus • Decision quality • Differences • Interpersonal Savvy • Nimble learning
