• Review client documentation, including drawings, studies, and maintenance logs, before and during inspections • Perform visual inspections of heating, cooling, ventilation, distribution, fire protection, controls, and plumbing systems • Review conformance with client standards and compliance with accessibility, fire and life safety, building codes, energy, and sustainability requirements • Collaborate with client facilities management staff to understand facility operations, investments, and functional needs • Use tablets, cameras, and mobile collection software to document system findings on-site • Develop facilities replacement-cost and corrective-measure estimates using data libraries and vendor research • Document findings in Gordian’s asset management and capital planning software • Perform quality assurance to ensure complete and accurate findings aligned with project scope • Provide clarification and guidance to clients regarding assessment findings • Travel with assessment professionals to conduct mechanical facility assessments
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Facility/Construction Management, or a combination of equivalent experience • Minimum of 5 years of experience in facility assessment or inspection, facility operations, design, construction, or facility/property management • Knowledge of researching and applying relevant building codes and standards for existing buildings • Experience conducting quantity surveys and estimating replacement values using RS Means or other construction cost datasets • Experience evaluating facility/system conditions and conducting lifecycle analysis to identify deficiencies with corrective cost estimates • Proficiency with computers and mobile devices, including Microsoft Office products (Teams, Word, Excel) and web browsers • Clear written and verbal communication skills • Ability to maintain focus on critical tasks and drive results • Accuracy and attention to detail • Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 as defined by applicable federal and provincial laws, subject to verified accommodations • Ability to walk and inspect large complexes and climb ladders and stairs • Willingness and ability to travel 40% to 50% nationally and occasionally internationally
