📋 Description

• Own new-hire benefits enrollment and annual open enrollment administration • Serve as point of contact with the benefits broker • Reconcile benefit enrollment and carrier billing and resolve discrepancies • Troubleshoot benefit questions and exceptions • Manage COBRA notices and continuation coverage enrollment • Manage supplemental employee engagement and perks programs • Maintain an audit-ready log of payroll-impacting changes and provide it to Finance before each payroll cycle • Partner with Finance to verify payroll data accuracy and troubleshoot discrepancies • Support opening new payroll tax accounts when hiring into new states • Maintain compensation reporting tools and flag pay equity concerns • Cross-train in payroll processing to provide backup support • Maintain accurate employee and personnel data across Paychex, Flock, Breezy, and related systems • Serve as internal contact for HR systems questions and support ATS administration • Build and run custom Paychex reports and optimize HR processes • Keep HR playbooks and documentation current • Oversee annual performance reviews and workforce surveys • Help transition and train new HR team members • Cross-train on core processes to maintain team continuity • Manage employment compliance filings, including ACA, EEO-1, and Form 5500 • Lead the annual handbook review process and Gaggle Compliance Month • Build and maintain the multi-state contractor classification framework • Respond to contractor classification challenges • Serve as primary point of contact for employee relations concerns • Coach managers through routine performance and conduct conversations • Support workplace investigations with HR leadership and document findings • Help managers apply HR policy consistently

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years in an HR generalist or HR operations role including benefits administration and payroll data management • PHR (HRCI) or SHRM-CP certification • Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience • Hands-on experience with a full-service payroll/HRIS platform • Experience with Paychex Flex • Working knowledge of multi-state compliance for employee and contractor workforces • Comfortable building and pulling custom reports from a complex HRIS platform • Preferred: Experience with Flock, Breezy, or a similar HRIS/ATS platform • Preferred: Prior experience supporting a remote or distributed team • Preferred: Notary Public commission, or willingness to obtain one • Ability to work independently and take full ownership without close supervision • Detail-oriented approach to ensure accuracy • Initiative in identifying tasks and process improvements • Ability to work through tasks quickly and consistently • Self-directed learning ability for new systems and processes
