📋 Description

• Coordinate cross-functional regulatory responses with Policy and Government Affairs, Operations, Product, and Communications teams • Review legislation impacting gig economy participants, marketplaces, retailers, and consumers • Deliver actionable legal guidance to business partners to support compliant operations • Develop and document legal frameworks and compliance best practices • Manage relationships with external counsel, trade associations, and industry partners • Support cross-industry initiatives shaping the regulatory conversation around gig economy innovation • Build and share expertise in emerging legal areas relevant to Instacart’s business

🎯 Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree • 3+ years of experience practicing law • Ability to synthesize, analyze, and provide precise legal advice in response to legislative updates • Experience working with legislative bodies, government agencies, or regulatory matters • Success supporting compliance initiatives and executing legal frameworks • Understanding of legislative processes and the regulatory landscape • Currently eligible locations limited to Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, and Nova Scotia • Experience with legislative or regulatory strategy (preferred) • Familiarity with marketplace platform companies, gig economy platform companies, or similarly highly regulated businesses (preferred)
