📋 Description

• Architect and build scalable, high-performance backend services using Java with Quarkus/Spring Boot and Node.js • Model and evolve complex distributed domains using Domain-Driven Design, bounded contexts, and event-driven patterns • Design and implement asynchronous workflows and decoupled communications using Kafka, AWS SQS, and AWS SNS • Own backend systems end-to-end, including data modeling, event flows, deployment, and production operations • Define SLIs/SLOs and implement observability with Datadog • Lead production incident response and log analysis • Optimize relational, analytical, and caching data architecture across Aurora RDS, Google BigQuery, and Redis • Deploy and operate cloud-native services on AWS/Azure using Kubernetes/EKS • Drive CI/CD and progressive rollouts • Collaborate with Product, Mobile, QE, and Data teams in Agile environments • Mentor peers and champion engineering excellence and continuous delivery • Embed AI into backend workflows and help shape backend engineering practices

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building, operating, and tuning production-grade backend services at scale within Agile environments • Strong, production-proven mastery of Java, including Quarkus/Spring Boot • Backend proficiency in Node.js highly valued • Deep understanding of pub/sub patterns, idempotency, eventual consistency, and sagas using Kafka, SQS, and SNS • Hands-on experience with schema design, query tuning, and migrations across PostgreSQL/MySQL, NoSQL, and Redis • Production experience deploying to AWS and/or Azure with containerized workloads on Kubernetes/EKS • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code using Terraform/CloudFormation, GitOps, and automated testing with K6/Gatling/JMeter • Experience with RESTful API design; gRPC, GraphQL, and AsyncAPI exposure • Experience with APM and distributed tracing using Datadog • Hands-on experience using GitHub Copilot, Cursor, and Claude Code for software delivery • Experience maintaining optimized READMEs, AGENTS.md/CLAUDE.md files, and reproducible local setups • Experience leveraging AI agents for code generation, refactoring, debugging, and automated PR workflows • Experience embedding AI into code reviews, test generation, and incident triage while ensuring reliability, security, and reproducibility
