📋 Description

• Research and test emerging AI technologies and translate capabilities into measurable business ROI • Critically evaluate AI solutions and determine when a problem is not actually an AI problem • Build backends and data layers using business logic, API standards, NBCUniversal gateways, and established best practices • Deploy and maintain SQL and NoSQL databases and storage • Design features spanning application UIs through underlying APIs • Maintain code quality through rigorous testing and adherence to code standards, including agent-written code • Develop automated tests for functions, services, and objects • Ensure reliability across team systems and the broader NBCUniversal portfolio, including cross-device and cross-browser compatibility • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary, matrixed organization • Deploy to cloud platforms and troubleshoot application, cloud, and configuration issues • Use code- and test-generation tools to accelerate feature and component delivery

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in backend or full-stack development • Comprehensive portfolio and related experience • Systems-thinking capabilities and ability to design for systemic problems • Ability to independently bring a basic application from idea to delivery • Experience with Python, AWS, database systems, and SQL • Experience with the Python ecosystem, including build, test, and deployment tools • Deep understanding of ML practices for foundation model integration, including tooling and instrumentation, feature/model selection, and RAG patterns • Some fine-tuning, deep learning, and training/algorithm insight • Ability to analyze ambiguous problems and distinguish user preferences from hard requirements • Understanding of API backends and practical experience integrating and consuming APIs in frontend projects • Ability to quickly incorporate feedback and adjust to changing priorities • Ability to design, communicate, and implement technical architectures and scalable solutions • Competence working in secured internal network environments and complex cloud network setups • Familiarity with large language model integration and AI-generated content technologies • Familiarity with modern LLM application development patterns and tooling • Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and business-to-technical translation abilities
