📋 Description

• Approve medication orders for patients treated at the medical center • Oversee and directly contribute to compounding, preparation, and dispensing of medications in compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations • Supervise pharmacy technicians and direct their workflow • Dispense medications accurately and promptly • Resolve problematic medication orders • Process and validate medication orders using information-system technology and maintain accurate patient profiles • Check products requiring pharmacist approval before dispensing • Participate in quality-assurance processes, including medication-incident reporting, MAR reconciliation, and adverse-event/error reporting • Develop or participate in clinical practice with physicians, nurses, healthcare professionals, and patients as part of an interdisciplinary team • Participate in focused clinical initiatives and Medication Use Evaluations • Monitor assigned patients’ clinical progress, including renal/hepatic function, culture results, and laboratory tests • Recommend therapy adjustments and document clinical activities and interventions • Educate Pharmacy staff and healthcare professionals • Provide patient teaching when needed • Resolve patient-care and operational problems through clear communication and reasonable attempts at resolution • Participate in interdisciplinary teams and revise policies, procedures, or treatment guidelines when needed • Perform charge pharmacist duties, including coordinating shift resources, resolving problems and staff conflicts, and communicating between shifts • Contact supervisors when issues exceed expertise or authority • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy required • 1 year of relevant acute care pharmacy experience or successful completion of an accredited pharmacy practice residency required • PharmD preferred • Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted • Licensed Pharmacist upon hire required • Ability to compound, prepare, dispense, and validate medications in accordance with applicable pharmacy laws and regulations • Ability to supervise pharmacy technicians • Ability to use current information-system technology for medication-order processing and patient profiles • Ability to monitor renal/hepatic function, culture results, and other laboratory tests • Ability to recommend medication-therapy adjustments • Ability to document clinical activities and interventions • Ability to participate in interdisciplinary clinical practice and medication-use evaluations
