📋 Description

• Design and implement enterprise-wide health and safety programs for risk identification, incident management, and emergency preparedness • Develop policies, standards, and tools aligned with ISO 45001 and Canadian legislation • Standardize scalable safety solutions across diverse operations and industries • Interpret multi-jurisdictional legislation and translate requirements into actionable controls • Guide stakeholders on jurisdiction-specific obligations while reinforcing a cohesive national safety approach • Lead hazard assessments and enable mitigation using the hierarchy of controls • Support training, awareness initiatives, and shared accountability for safe work practices • Monitor performance through metrics, data analysis, and reporting to identify trends and support continuous improvement

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in health and safety or related discipline • Minimum 5-7 years of progressive H&S experience, including program development or system implementation • Comprehensive knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation across multiple Canadian jurisdictions • Experience building policies, procedures, and safety programs from the ground up in diverse environments • Ability to translate complex regulatory and technical requirements into clear, actionable guidance • Experience navigating multi-industry and multi-site environments, including unionized settings • Experience integrating ISO 45001 and management system frameworks into program design and continuous improvement • Ability to analyze large HR and safety datasets using Excel and HRIS tools • Ability to assess enterprise-level risks, anticipate emerging hazards, and align safety initiatives with organizational strategy and mission • Professionalism, integrity, sound judgment, and ability to manage sensitive information and high-pressure situations • CRSP or CHSC designation considered an asset
