📋 Description

• Inspect equipment for proper performance and determine faults and malfunctions. • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems to restore original manufacturer specifications. • Test repaired equipment to ensure proper operational performance. • Commission new equipment. • Complete accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, and parts lists. • Stay current with industry, customer, product developments, and technical best practices. • Comply with safety policies and applicable government, customer, or industry regulations. • Identify and report unsafe work habits, workplace incidents, and near misses; perform Take Five risk assessments before each task. • Maintain hand tools and equipment for safe operation. • Maintain an orderly work area and meet housekeeping requirements. • Attend Environmental, Health and Safety training. • Wear required personal protective equipment. • Provide training at customer sites.

🎯 Requirements

• Diploma or certificate in a relevant mechanical or electrical field, or equivalent experience as a Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic. • Five (5) years of related experience with surface mining equipment. • Ability to work in both French and English. • Previous experience with Sandvik equipment or products is an asset. • Ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics. • Demonstrated ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical issues on mining equipment. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office. • Valid driver’s licence required. • Willingness to travel to mine sites and across Canada as required. • Ability and willingness to work varied shifts as required.
