📋 Description

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain the mechanical and/or electrical aspects of surface mining equipment and components. • Commission new equipment and provide training at customer sites. • Inspect equipment to identify defects and failures. • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective components or systems. • Verify the operation of repaired equipment. • Complete time records, technical reports, failure reports, and parts lists. • Stay current on industry, customer, product, and technical best-practice developments. • Comply with safety policies and regulatory requirements. • Identify and report unsafe work practices, incidents, and near misses; perform “Take 5” risk assessments. • Maintain tools and equipment to ensure safe operation. • Keep the workplace orderly and participate in environmental, health, and safety training. • Wear the required personal protective equipment.

🎯 Requirements

• Diploma or certificate in a relevant field (mechanical/electrical), or equivalent experience as a heavy equipment mechanic. • Five (5) years of related experience with surface mining equipment. • Ability to work in both French and English. • Previous experience with Sandvik equipment or products is an asset. • Ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics. • Demonstrated ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical issues on mining equipment. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Computer skills and experience with Microsoft software. • A valid driver’s license is required, along with a willingness to travel to mine sites and across Canada as needed. • Ability and willingness to work varied shifts as required.
