📋 Description

• Prepare new generator interconnection applications • Develop conceptual single-line diagrams • Verify compliance with reactive power requirements • Develop steady-state, dynamic, and short-circuit models supporting applications • Review ISO feasibility and system impact studies • Provide guidance to clients who are ISO Interconnection Customers • Perform independent power system studies, including thermal and voltage contingency, transient stability, and short-circuit analyses • Support clients’ generator interconnection planning strategies • Perform advanced grid system studies evaluating scenarios and impacts for new conventional and renewable generation projects

🎯 Requirements

• Candidate can be based anywhere within Canada • Must not require employer sponsorship for work authorization in Canada • Must be a citizen of a country listed in Appendix A to Part 810 of the Code of Federal Regulations if accessing U.S. export-controlled information • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering with strong academic background and coursework emphasis in Power Systems Analysis • 3+ years of previous power systems engineering experience • Knowledge of power regions and ISOs/RTOs, including PJM, MISO, NYISO, ERCOT, SPP, CAISO, and ISO-NE • Experience modeling inverter-based resources and renewable generation, including WTG, PV, BESS, and hybrid generation, and associated collector systems • Experience with PSS/E, PSLF, and/or PSCAD • Experience using transmission planning software, particularly PSS/E, PSLF, and TARA, for load flow modeling and contingency studies • Experience in dynamic transient, stability, and other advanced studies in TSAT, EMTP-RV, or PSCAD is a plus • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Experience writing technical reports and proposals • Solid interpersonal skills and ability to work with and guide others • Project planning and leadership skills • Interest in learning and effectively using emerging technologies where relevant to the role; AI, automation, and programming experience is valued but not required
