📋 Description

• Perform transmission system planning and analysis, including load flow, stability, short circuit, and electromagnetic transient studies • Prepare new generator interconnection applications • Develop conceptual single line diagrams • Verify compliance with reactive power requirements • Develop steady-state, dynamic, and short circuit models for interconnection applications • Review ISO feasibility and system impact studies • Provide guidance to ISO Interconnection Customers • Use data, automation, artificial intelligence, and other digital tools where relevant to support research, analysis, engineering, design, and workflow improvement

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and sufficient industry experience is considered in lieu of an advanced degree • Minimum of 6 years relevant power systems engineering experience with utility or consultant • Experience in load flow and contingency analysis to identify transmission thermal and voltage constraints and transfer capability limits • Experience using transmission planning software for load flow modeling, contingency analysis, and stability analysis using PSS/E, PSLF, TARA • Must be eligible to access U.S. export-controlled information as a citizen of a country listed in Appendix A to Part 810 of the Code of Federal Regulations • Must have authorization to work in Canada; the employer does not sponsor work authorization • Valued but not required: stability analysis, PSCAD, short circuit analysis, CAPE or ASPEN, knowledge of power regions and ISOs/RTOs, Python, Java Script, or other scripting languages
