📋 Description

• Conduct all investigations within an assigned district • Prevent inventory loss through theft awareness and prevention programs with store staff • Audit store security procedures, including cycle counts and reporting • Detect and process individuals engaged in in-store theft and fraudulent activities • Complete investigations and related reports with police agencies and the criminal justice system • Conduct initial investigations of internal matters, such as cash over/short reports • Respond to emergency situations • Provide direction on merchandise protection standards and conduct awareness training • Serve as the key contact for camera system installation and maintenance • Work with armoured car services to troubleshoot and evaluate store needs • Work with alarm companies on setup and ongoing maintenance issues • Interview suspects and witnesses and prepare in-depth investigation reports • Testify in hearings and court actions • Perform other related tasks as required

🎯 Requirements

• Diploma or Certificate in Security/Police Studies or related field (preferred, not required) • Valid Alberta Security License required (before start date) • Post-secondary education or equivalent (preferred, not required) • ProServe Certification • Valid First Aid and CPR certification is preferred • Pressure Points Control Tactics (PPCT) will be considered an asset • Knowledge of WHIMIS is preferred • Knowledge of surveillance and apprehension techniques • Interview and interrogation training will be considered an asset • Minimum, 2 – 5 years’ loss prevention experience • Minimum, 2 – 5 years’ management experience • Previous retail experience will be considered an asset • Unquestionable ethics and integrity with an ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality • Positive and professional approach with willingness to learn and be challenged • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team environment as well as independently • Exhibit strong leadership skills with the ability to make appropriate decisions in stressful situations • Ability to demonstrate situational awareness and safe work practices • Excellent active listening, communication (written and verbal) and dispute resolution skills • Demonstrate initiative and ability to recognize opportunities for improvement and efficiency • Highly organized with the ability to direct and prioritize tasks as appropriate • Proven ability to maintain workload and meet critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills • Ability to be flexible, in keeping with the needs of our evolving company • Must be willing and able to work irregular hours, including weekends and occasional overnights to support the retail stores • Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, Teams, Project and Outlook • Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication • Must pass a Criminal Record Check • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
