📋 Description

• Drive business impact and better decision making by laying the data foundation for a world-class analytics function • Own and maintain the data transformation layer • Design, write, review, and ship SQL models that transform raw data into usable data products • Work with Data Engineers to add, model, and publish new data sources in the data warehouse • Monitor the data warehouse and identify opportunities to improve operations, accuracy, quality, coverage, integrity, structure, and usability • Translate ambiguous business requests into modeled data and establish business rules and edge cases • Implement measures to improve data quality, lineage, access, and retention across source production databases • Own the data dictionary and document tables, columns, data flows, definitions, and calculation methodologies • Diagnose and resolve data incidents • Review teammates’ code and provide feedback • Collaborate with Business Analysts, Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and business process owners • Enable end users to understand and use data effectively • Improve agent playbooks, documentation, and data warehouse tooling • Contribute architectural ideas for the data environment and pipelines • Help establish the Business Analytics Center of Excellence and improve warehouse usability for analysts and AI agents

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Engineering or a related technical field • 4+ years of experience in an Analytics Engineer, Data Engineer, or Data Analyst role where you personally shipped production data models • Expert-level SQL skills and working knowledge of Python • Fluency with LLMs and agentic coding tools, such as Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalent • Experience with cloud data warehousing, such as BigQuery or Snowflake • Good understanding of a modern transformation framework, such as dbt, Dataform, SQLMesh, or similar • Git fluency, including branching, pull requests, code review, and conflict resolution • Strong familiarity with orchestration tools such as Airflow, Cloud Composer, Dagster, or Prefect • Understanding of Jira, ticket hygiene, code review etiquette, and avoiding unverified LLM-generated code • Experience with exploratory/raw data analysis, data modeling, and data governance • Experience translating business logic and objectives into SQL code and linking data and analytics to business strategy and operations • Familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI • Detail oriented, methodical, and thorough • Strong relationship-building and collaboration abilities • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including explaining complex issues simply • Ability to work collaboratively and independently and take ownership of quality, accuracy, and timeliness • World-class individual contributor mindset
